Country music star Jimmy Wayne knows what it's like to be homeless.

Wayne grew up in a variety of foster homes and occasionally found himself homeless as a teen. He was given a second chance at the age of 16 when a 70-year-old couple, Bea and Russell Costner, gave him a home and fresh start when he was only 16 years old. He has never forgotten the generosity of the couple.

Over the weekend, Jimmy Wayne reached the official halfway point of his Meet Me Halfway solo-walk across America to raise money and awareness for homeless teens. Saturday (April 3), the singer invited his loyal fans and followers to complete the last mile and a half of his walk into the heart of Amarillo, Texas, where they gathered at Hastings record store to celebrate the accomplishment. Fans had the chance to shake Jimmy's hand and congratulate him on the past three months while enjoying a hot dog lunch. They were then were treated to a two-song acoustic performance from Jimmy of 'Where You're Going' and his No. 1 hit, 'Do You Believe Me Now.'

When country singer Jimmy Wayne walked into Amarillo, TX today, he had been walking for 93 days and covered approximately 977 miles of terrain. He reached the halfway point of his walk halfway across America, which will end in Phoenix. His goal is to raise awareness of homeless teens in America.
